A very effective and relatively new treatment for melasma and red spots on the face and skin is a cosmelan mask. The process is relatively pain free and easy. A cosmelan mask is a depigmentation agent that will decrease the levels of melanin in your skin. Melanin is the chemical in your skin that will cause darkening and spots. A cosmelan mask is first applied by your skin care specialist. Obviously you need to check with your doctor before you use any new type of product on your skin. After the initial treatment you may experience some peeling and redness. Kind of like you have a mild sunburn. The side effects are very minimal. You need to leave the cosmelan mask on for about 4-8 hours before you wash it off.
After the first treatment then you will follow up with cosmelan 2 for up to a few weeks. This is also a moask that you apply at home once every day. Some people complain about always having to put on a cosmelan mask every day, but if you miss a day or 2 here or there it is not a big deal.
You should start to see results after about a week or ten days. Spots will start to fade away and your skin should start to feel batter as well. The cost is much cheaper than plastic surgery and also a cosmelan mask has way less side effects than a surgery
