Eyelash Extensions FAQ

What is the difference between authentic individual eyelash extensions and false lashes?

You got questions Las Vegas? We have the answers!
The main differences are the:

Adhesive – Eyelash extension adhesive is very expensive and available to licensed technicians. It lasts much longer than glue from the drug store.
Eyelash typesEyelash extensions are individual fibers or hairs applied to isolated natural lashes.
• Application technique – You can not do eyelash extensions on yourself. The process is too tedious and complex as well as your eyes must be closed.
• Eyelash appearance – Eyelash extensions can look very natural if applied correctly.
• Eyelash lasting duration – Eyelash extensions are the longest lasting eyelash solution out of all false eyelash options

Traditional false lashes are in a strip or multiple lashes knotted together (flares) and applied onto the eyelid using a hard drying adhesive. They often cause discomfort and sometimes natural lashes to fall out. They last only a few days to a week and look unnatural and feel heavy. Some salons called the multiple flare lashes extensions or individual lashes but they are not individual at all. They can cause a great deal of damage to your natural lashes and do not last.
Eyelash Extensions are applied with an adhesive that dries soft allowing lashes to stay flexible and bouncy. Mink, silk and human hair lashes have the most flex. Because the bonding is to each individual lash and not to skin, extensions will last significantly longer than traditional false lashes or flares. Also, the adhesive is stronger so less is used. This helps the extensions be more comfortable. Extensions can look and feel like human lashes.

How long do eyelash extensions last?

When applied properly they last months or years, depending on the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes, fills, how well you take care of them and the expertise of the technician applying the best eyelash extensions. Our bonding agent is specially formulated with a unique waterproof bonding agent to last. Other glues that you can purchase at the drug store are hard, crack and do not hold up. If you get fills monthly you can have your lashes for months or years.

How often should touch ups be done?

We recommend getting a touch up every two to four weeks but this depends on the type of extensions you have on and how well you cared for them ( left them alone and kept oil off of them ). A natural eyelash falls off every 40 days on average due to the natural growth cycle and is naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. At any given moment, each of your natural eyelashes is at a different stage of its life cycle. A touch up is needed to replenish the lashes that have completed their life cycle. Touch ups and eyelash extension fills generally take a short time and are relatively inexpensive. Our touch ups also include what ever required maintenance the lashes may need, like trimming and removing extensions that grew out. We then place a fresh lash at the base.

Can eyelash mascara be applied on extensions?

Mascara is not needed or recommended with extensions. However, if the client must have the mascara look, only extension mascara can be used on the tips after the coating sealer that we can provide. Waterproof mascara along with any type of oil based mascara will dissolve the bonding agent and cause the extensions to fall off. Waterproof also leaves a residue and makes fills or touch ups impossible. If you want a bold mascara look you can have the extra thick extensions with a thick sealer applied.
How long does it take to do a full set of eyelash extensions?
It is very relaxing and the time will fly by. Your eyes are closed the entire time and it is not uncommon to fall asleep. It takes at least an hour or 2 hours for eyelash extensions and sometimes a bit more if you have a lot of natural eyelashes.

Please come in with clean lashes free of cosmetics the day of the procedure/fill. If you wear waterproof mascara, please do not use for several days before your appointment because it leaves a film that makes the extensions fall off. You can use water based mascara if you must wear mascara.
**** Please remove your contacts prior to your eyelash extension appointment. You may put them back in several hours after your eyelash extension procedure so please bring your prescription glasses if you have to wear glasses to drive.
